Here is what we added to create this thick yogurt-like soft-serve smoothie.
Frozen mango chunks – 5 chunks
Frozen blueberries – about a 1/2 cup
Ground Flax – two tablespoons
Vanilla Almond Milk – about 2/3 cup
Protein Powder – Vega Protein & greens
All ingredient measurements are estimated, but you can see what it would look like before mixing in the Ninja below:
The secret to the ice cream-like thickness is the frozen fruit, and the lower amount of liquid from the almond milk. The protein powder also helps to make this a thicker drink. If you used fresh fruit the smoothie would be more like a melted shake.
As you can see in the photo of the smoothie in a martini glass, the smoothie comes out like a Greek yogurt, or soft serve ice cream. You can eat this with a spoon, or let the smoothie melt a little so you can drink this with a straw.
