Many smokers choose to continue to smoke due to the possibility of weight gain when then quit. For most this isn’t the fear of being unhealthy with extra weight, but in the thought they will seem less attractive with extra weight.
A reason for STARTING the smoking habit may be to look more attractive, in being slimmer, and looking ‘cool’ when smoking. One problem with thinking in this way is that a smoker may only be considered ‘attractive’ to another smoker.
Since it has been shown that when you decide to quit smoking you may experience an increased appetite. It may not be the best idea to quit smoking at the same time you start a diet. One option is to start, or increase, exercise habits when you stop smoking.
Maintaining your weight through smoking is a confusing way to look ‘attractive’, when most people see smoking as a very unattractive characteristic.
If you quit smoking for health reasons, you just may develop healthier habits such as exercise and eating healthy foods to keep any weight gain to a minimum.
